He was addressing a meeting organized by the National Counter Terrorisms Authority (NCTA) which was attended by the presidents of different Chambers of Commerce and Industry from all over Pakistan. Shabbir Hussain Chawla said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has opened new avenues of direct foreign investments in Pakistan but we must provide a peaceful and congenial environment within the country so that foreign as well as local investors could continue their business activates without any fear of terrorism.
He said that in this contemporary age no act of terrorisms could be carried out without financial support. Commenting on the basic chemistry of Pakistan, he said that Pakistani being true Muslims donate generously and are ranked among top charity donating nations of the world.
He said that some terrorists groups exploit the religious feelings of the Muslims and abuse their hard earned money to carry out their destructive activities which are detrimental to the business environment.
He said that the FCCI had already arranged many seminars to educate the business community to donate their charity to the really deserving organizations so that it could be used for the dissemination of Islam and helping the downtrodden. He hoped that these religious organizations should also maintain their accounts transparent so that neither the charity could misappropriate nor it could be abused by the terrorists.
